you for your interest in the Hickory Girls Softball program!
Offered by the
Hickory-Fountain Green Recreation Council in cooperation
with Harford County Parks and Recreation, Hickory is located in
the center of the County just minutes north of Bel Air. The
program uses facilities at Hickory Park, Hickory and Fountain
Green Elementary Schools, C. Milton Wright High School, and Tucker
Field.
Ages 5-6 and 7-8 participate in a clinic atmosphere where they are
taught basic skills and then apply that in game situations. Ages
9-10, 11-13, and 14-18 compete in a local “in-house” fastpitch”
league. Girls are given the opportunity to learn the sport and
develop their skills, but most importantly, they experience fun,
good sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
Hickory Softball also is proud to support our very own lady
Hornets travel teams for ages U10, U12, and expanding into U14
this year. The girls compete in local tournaments throughout the
area, such as the Forest Hill Frenzy and the APGFCU Invitational
at Ripken Stadium. Our U10 Hornets travel team was the 2007
Harford County Champions. The U12 travel also found success this
year having an overall record of 40-17 and were ranked 8th in the
final rankings for the State of Maryland. In addition, they were
finalists in four different tournaments.
